Which SUP Brands Offer the Best Warranties?
With the growth of paddle boarding over the last couple of years and especially the last 9 months, tens-of-thousands of new customers have entered the market. According to research firm Technovia, the trend isn’t expected to change any time soon with a projected, nearly $60 million in growth from 2020 thru 2024. This not only means more sales for stand-up paddle manufacturers but also more damage and warranty claims coming from new and old customers alike. We wanted to provide you with a comprehensive list of warranty policies from the 16 biggest paddle board brands in market today. We are primarily covering warranty policies for composite boards made from a mix of epoxy and polyurethane. These are your more high performance boards that are more susceptible to damage. While brands like iRocker, Blackfin, BIC Sport (Tahe) have 2 year manufacture warranties many brands have none at all. As quoted from Tower Paddle Board, “As epoxy paddle boards, like surfboards, are relatively fragile, this is standard policy in the industry. It is the customer's responsibility to take proper care of your hard stand up paddle board.” Unfortunately, most customers never look at the warranty until it’s too late. We recommend covering your hard paddle boards with a protection plan, protecting all the types of damage that a manufacturer won’t cover in the lists below.
As a side note, this list does not cover warranties on inflatable SUPs. You can assume most inflatable (PVC) boards will come with a 2 to 5 year warranty that will be fairly meaningful. Most inflatable damage comes from delamination or the separation of rubber seals and seams. This can occur due to poor construction but also from extreme amounts of pressure applied to the board. Most manufacturers will cover these separations. What they won’t cover is a laceration or pop associated with accidental damage, which is less likely to happen with normal use and therefore something you shouldn’t need to worry about.
Getting back to hard boards; the most common types of damage to paddle boards are:
- Cracked & smashed rails
- Fin box damage
- Glass chipping
- Nose snaps
- Tail chips
If you are thinking of fixing the board yourself after damage occurs, see our latest guide to self repair for just about every type of ding. If you are considering purchasing a new paddle board and want to cover it from the potential damage mentioned above, see our Surfcare Plans page to ensure your board stays in mint condition while under your care.
While most paddle board companies warranties are the same, covering issues around material and workmanship there are slight nuances between individual manufacturers. Click on the list below to jump to the specific brand you are looking for more warranty details on.

There is no warranty on hard paddle boards at Tower. As epoxy paddle boards, like surfboards, are relatively fragile, this is standard policy in the industry. It is the customer's responsibility to take proper care of your hard stand up paddle board.
We do have a 30 day return window for unused hard paddle boards, paddle boards with defects, and paddle boards that are damaged in shipment to you. This 30-day return window on hard paddle boards is from your date of receipt. Note that the paddle board has to be unused to qualify. Further, note that we do not have any warranty on hard paddle boards beyond this 30 day return window. Once your paddle board is used or the return period has expired, there is no option to return or replace your Tower stand up paddle board. Hard paddle boards are fragile by nature and are likely to dent or ding in the lifetime of the board. Please be aware of this when purchasing.
